Welcome to the Central Texas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute web site. We hope you enjoy this site and find it to be a worthwhile resource.
The American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers chartered the Southwest Chapter in 1942, which serviced the AI and RM designations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth and surrounding areas. In 1973 the Fort Worth chapter of The American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (#54) was chartered creating a separate chapter to serve the Ft. Worth and surrounding area.
The Fort Worth Chapter of The Society of Residential Appraisers was chartered in 1950 and offered Associate and SRA designations. It was restructured as The Society of Real Estate Appraisers with the additional designation of SREA in 1973.
To better serve the appraisal professional, the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and The Society of Real Estate Appraisers merged in 1990 and was named The Appraisal Institute. The two Fort Worth chapters merged and became known as the Central Texas Chapter of The Appraisal Institute. Appraisal Institute Designated members, Candidates, Practicing Affiliates and Affiliates provide volunteer service to their organization, their profession and their communities.
Purpose of this website:
- To provide a resource to our chapter volunteers regarding activities sponsored by The Appraisal Institute and the Central Texas Chapter.
- To provide the public a list of local qualified appraisers to meet their real estate valuation needs.
- To provide the public and our chapter volunteers a link to our National organization and its offerings.
